Karma Yoga is the yogic practice of selfless service, the act of giving without attachment to the outcome or reward.
Shantarasa Yoga is directly involved in the charitable works of Shanti Mandir as an expression of Karma Yoga.
Shanti Mandir has ashrams in Magod India, Kankhal India and Walden New York, a place of refuge where spiritual and yogic disciplines are pursued.
In addition to the provision of these ashrams which enable an immersive experience of the living path of yoga, Shanti Mandir also provide the following services to benefit the broader community:
Sri Muktananda Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya – a free Sanskrit school that provides a rounded and authentic exposure to Vedic teachings
Shanti Hastkala – a woman-empowerment program that helps the rural poor learn handicraft skills and provides them with work opportunities
Shanti Arogya Mandir – a mobile clinic that services the medical needs of the villages around the ashram in Magod free of charge
Eye Camps – helping the impoverished in rural India with eye camps to restore sight to those blinded by cataracts, with the provision of a free medical procedure to implant intraocular lenses
Shanti Darshanam – a school of complete yoga studies including 200hr yoga teacher training, 300hr yoga teacher training, 500hr yoga teacher training and continuing education (CP) yoga teacher trainings that are internationally recognised and accredited. Shantarasa Yoga facilitates these yoga teacher trainings in India through Shanti Darshanam. These trainings help to support the funding of the above charitable works.
