ABOUT US

Shantarasa School of Yoga was founded in 2005, yet its founders have been teaching, studying, researching and practicing Yoga since the mid seventies.

‘Shantarasa’ is a word derived from the Sanskrit language that describes the foundational rasa or relishment. Shantarasa awakens a state of ecstatic recognition and non-dual awareness that delivers the ultimate contentment. It is the very source, the centre point, and the inner upsurge of joy that expresses itself through the various pleasurable experiences we pursue.

The School was founded to provide the broader community with an authentic vehicle to meet and engage the fullness of the Yoga experience. Shantarasa School of Yoga offers expert instruction into the broad range of uplifting living skills that express the essence of yoga practice. While yoga is often associated with specific systems of movement to enhance physical and mental wellbeing, the true measure of yoga practice is to be realised through cultivation of bodily, mental and spiritual capacities inherently present but undeveloped. We draw inspiration and personal instruction from those unique and highly gifted adepts who have fully traversed the vast territory of Consciousness and then mapped out and contoured the means to potently access our extraordinary human potential.

Shantarasa through its range of services and courses gives the curious to the serious student a diverse range of methods to take steps to initiate or deepen their exploration and practice of the living science and path of yoga:
